*FINAL VOTE ON DEFOREST AREA PROGRESSIVES (DAP) NAME CHANGE WAS UNANIMOUS. THE NEW NAME IS DEFOREST-WINDSOR GRASSROOTS (DWG).
We had a general discussion on the Progressive Partners meting we all attended on April 2nd, hosted by SPARC in Sun Prairie.
Frank recommends 820 AM on the radio dial, WCPT.
JohnSki and Dan McClain attended the George Ferriter campaign kickoff in Cambria on Saturday, April 23rd.
Ideas and volunteers are being accepted now for the DWG Fourth of July parade float. So far, we are thinking of reviving John Stanley’s idea of “I Scream for Democracy,” with an ice cream cone for a visual. (“You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream.” Remember?) The float will be on the agenda for every meeting between now and then.
JohnSki brought up Ron Biendseil’s email suggesting maybe that community progressive groups like ours might like to sponsor resolutions like the Dane County Board’s resolution against the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). The DWG Writing Committee will draft a resolution to bring to the next DWG meeting.
